Organization of Kingston Women Artists

The Organization of Kingston Women Artists (OKWA) is a non-profit independent association formed in 1989, with a current membership of approximately 55 artists. Membership is by juried application only. The organization provides a forum for mutual support and exchange of information and ideas among local professional women artists. An annual exhibition serves to increase public awareness and appreciation of contemporary women's art.

In 2014 we celebrated our 25th anniversary with the publication of a book, Then and Now.  To view an introduction to this book, or to order it, go to:  http://www.blurb.ca/b/5277569-then-and-now

In addition to exhibition opportunities, we  offer workshops and Artists Talks to our members and the public. For several years the group has provided scholarship funds for a graduating highschool student intending to pursue an art education.

OKWA artists are individually active in teaching, lecturing and exhibiting their work locally, nationally, and internationally.
